For all of the wrong things that have happened to this franchise since Joe Lynch‘s “Wrong Turn 2,” I have to admit that I still go back for more. I still get excited when a new installment into this series gets released. For the most part, I get let down a fair bit with each installment. With the latest installment, “Wrong Turn 6: Last Resort,” they have solidified that there is not much more that can be done with the series.

For what started as an interesting series with “Wrong Turn” and Joe Lynch’s “Wrong Turn 2,” this franchise has slowly but surely going into the realm of yet another once respected franchise falling into oblivion.

In “Wrong Turn 6: Last Resort,” the story centers around Danny and his friends visiting Hobs Springs to learn about an inheritance. To make a long story short, what follows are some unexplainable storylines and unbelievable character decisions.

Director Valeri Milev does an adequate job with this being their third film and first since “Re-Kill.” The cast itself is not solid at all, and actually become quite forgettable within about ten minutes of the film ending.

As with previous “Wrong Turn” films, the gore is the most exciting part of the film with the characters being forgettable outside of the villains. The inventive killing methods normally make for extensive use of gore and give the series one of the few things to remember from film to film. That is no different with “Wrong Turn 6: Last Resort” as the kills are as brutal as ever.

Outside of the gore, “Wrong Turn 6: Last Resort” ends up being possibly the worst installment of the series, which is saying something pretty bad these days. Of course, I have some love for it though with the kills. Just be warned that this film is a far cry from the first two.
