Former “The Walking Dead” showrunner Glen Mazzara, who is currently working on a “The Shining” sequel entitled “The Overlook Hotel” is also prepping a made-for-TV movie sequel to “The Omen” entitled “Damien.” Mazzara took over “The Walking Dead” after Frank Darabont left. He eventually left and was replaced by Scott Gimple. Mazzara will executive produce the made-for-TV movie, while a director has yet to be named.
The drama centers on the film’s young boy Damien Thorn. Now an adult and haunted by his past, Damien is faced with a series of macabre events and must finally face his true destiny: he is the Antichrist.
As you can see from the synopsis, the existing sequels are basically being ignored.
