Blu Ray Review-UFC: Best of 2013

Coming March 25th

Review-This blu ray captures the matches that as a UFC fan you feel shaped the year. I will say right now, if you are just going to skim below to get a rating to see if you want to buy this. I will say right now, you should own this if you are a UFC fan. This is a must own in clearly a year that I felt UFC really dominated sports from UFC 157 and the incredible match include Matt Grice taking on Dennis Bermudez to the biggest upset in UFC history with Silva being beaten by Weidman at UFC 162. It is hard to believe but UFC is now celebrating its 20th anniversary and what a better way to get things popping for this year beside the quality PPV’s and news-worthy rumors, was the introduction to a woman’s division. Strikeforce had this woman who made news and got people talking. The men raved about her beauty and the women loved her intensity and power, and the world was introduced to the second coming of Gina Carano in Ronda Rousey. History was made at UFC 157 when Rousey beat Liz Caramouche for the first ever women’s fight in the octagon. If you did not think UFC could make any more history, they finally went to Winnipeg. Rivals Carlos Condit and Hendricks gave you a fight that left us all at the edge of our seat. 2013 marked the year of an upset I touched on earlier. The night Chris Weidman took on Anderson Silva at UFC 162, this was a match that no one on this planet could have seen go down the way it did, to re-watch it was still shocking. (The rematch is even more shocking and very disturbing. Do not watch it with a weak stomach)This is just 7 full hours of pure MMA goodness, if you are a diehard fan like me, this collection you wait all year for and say a special wish that they include all your favorite matches. If you are a UFC fan, I will say right now UFC 168, the documentary about the 20th year and this blu ray are the must own discs. As good as 2013 was, and they made history on more than one occasion you just see with Cyborg calling out Rousey, the supposed-retirement of Silva and Dana White working overtime to come up with something that will draw more fans to his octagon I just think 2014 is going to be a great year to keep the business going.
