Original Airdate: September 23, 2013
While “Sleepy Hollow” had a highly impressive pilot, television shows are judged by what they have done for us lately. The fact of the matter is that each and every follow-up episode is more important than the previous. This is even more truthful for the episodes directly after the pilot. While the pilot’s episode tried to find the right audience, the next few episodes are what keeps viewers hooked and makes them want to tell their friends to start watching the show.
“Blood Moon, ” written By Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman and directed by Ken Olin had the idea of hooking in the viewers for the long haul. While it had its moments of interest and levity, it lost the power that the pilot had. The pilot gave us a ton of information, so it is safe to assume that the follow-up would be scaled back a little, but it fell flat to me on many levels. I understand that “Sleepy Hollow” is just starting to make its footprint though, so I am more than willing to give it a pass.
