Throwback Thursday: Suspiria (1977)

Purchase Suspiria

A newcomer to a fancy ballet academy gradually comes to realize that the staff of the school are actually a coven of witches bent on chaos and destruction.

Director: Dario Argento
Writers: Dario Argento, Daria Nicolodi
Stars: Jessica Harper, Stefania Casini, Flavio Bucci

Dario Argento long ago set himself apart from many of his contemporaries because of his visual flair and Suspiria may well be his most visceral film. Just his use of color in Suspiria is worth watching the film itself. Layer that with the elaborate deaths depicted in this classic and you have one hell of a great movie.
