Spike Lee’s Oldboy Pushed Back to November

OldboyFilmDistrict has decided to move the release date of Spike Lee’s new joint OLDBOY from its originally scheduled October 25, 2013 release to Wednesday, November 27, 2013.

No reason was given for the date shift, but Thanksgiving weekend has traditionally been a solid time for theater attendance, with many people choosing to enjoy their holiday by taking in a couple of movies.

Starring Josh Brolin, Elizabeth Olsen and Sharlto Copley, OLDBOY was directed by Spike Lee from a script by Mark Protosevich and concerns the story of an advertising executive (Josh Brolin) who is abruptly kidnapped and held hostage for 20 years in solitary confinement. When he is inexplicably released, he embarks on an obsessive mission to discover who orchestrated his bizarre and torturous punishment only to find he is still trapped in a web of conspiracy and torment.
