Review-For metal fans this has to be the most anticipated cd this summer, and trust me fans it is well worth the anticipation. If you are going to expect this to sound like Pantera, Down or even Superjoint Ritual you are going to be half right with the vocalist, but this band seems to have a sound of its own. Music Media is my whore is such an odd way to start this cd, it plays more like the calm before what is coming next from this storm. This cd seems to build itself track to track, each track heavier than the last. While Phil is back to his roots, because this is one of the best vocal performances from him in a very long time, but as great as he was, the real stars of this cd are the Illegals. This band is crushing, punishing, brutal and very rifftastic. The title track is classic Phil with his rants about the music industry being ruined, and everyone including him that ruined it. Bedroom Destroyer sounds like it came off of Vulgar Display of Power, with its sound and energy, this is going to get the pit insane. If I had to name any negative on this cd, it had to be the opening track which may throw some fans off, and the closing track may turn some fans off. But, those are very small gripes, wait till you see what the Illegals are about, this is a band that has a sound that may stop some of that Pantera reunion talk for now, and to give this band and it’s sound a fair shot. You got Phil going back to the old school; you got a band that is backing him up that has power and fury. The riffs and catchy lyrics, Bedroom Destroyer, the title track and Betrayed alone are worth the price of the cd, those three songs are some of the best things I have heard from Phil in well over a decade. This cd is aggressive, pissed off and going to brutalize your ear drums. This is the fuck you music has needed for so long…

8.5 out of 10
