Oldboy to Open in Theaters with Paranormal Activity 5

Spike Lee’s remake of Park Chan-wook’s OLDBOY originally had a release on October 11, 2013, but things have changed slightly and the film will now open on October 25, 2013, going face to face with PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 5.

I am curious to see how Paranormal Activity 5 does this year. The franchise seems to be on its way downhill, but they should be able to squeeze out a few more sequels with the casual horror fans. Oldboy is one that I am very curious to see how it comes out. Spike Lee is no joke when it comes to directing films, so I am not counting this one out.

Oldboy is a provocative, visceral thriller that follows the story of an advertising executive (Josh Brolin) who is abruptly kidnapped and held hostage for 20 years in solitary confinement. When he is inexplicably released, he embarks on an obsessive mission to discover who orchestrated his bizarre and torturous punishment only to find he is still trapped in a web of conspiracy and torment.

OLDBOY will star Josh Brolin, Elizabeth Olsen and Sharlto Copley and was directed by Spike Lee from a script by Mark Protosevich. The film was produced by Roy Lee, Doug Davison and Nathan Kahane.
