Texas Chainsaw 3D Opens Nicely at the Box Office

Texas Chainsaw 3DTexas Chainsaw 3D had a modest opening at the box office this past weekend, earning an estimated $23 million. That is less than the 2003 Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake, which opened with $28 million. Keep in mind that this year’s Texas Chainsaw 3D  opened in fewer theaters. It is also pretty much on par with recent 3-D horror films like Resident Evil: Retribution, ($21 million), Saw 3D ($22.5 million) and My Bloody Valentine 3D ($21.2 million). We are leaving out the 3D duds which did not do so well at the box office.
