Ron Howard Directing the Film Adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s The Graveyard Book?

Neil Gaiman - The Graveyard Book

Oh, Richie Cunningham, we would love to have you direct the film adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s THE GRAVEYARD BOOK. Yes, news is going around that the incomparable Ron Howard may direct the film adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s THE GRAVEYARD BOOK. The film was announced way back in 2008, but nothing solid ever stuck to it… until now.

The book is inspired by Richard Kipling’s THE JUNGLE BOOK and it tells the story of “an unusual boy who inhabits an unusual place. He’s the only living resident of a graveyard. Raised by ghosts, werewolves and other ghouls, Bod has learned really cool stuff from his guardians like the ability to fade. Can a boy raised by ghosts face the wonders and terrors of the worlds of both the living and the dead?”. Sounds interesting doesn’t it?

Matthew Vaughn’s STARDUST (2007) and Henry Selick’s CORALINE (2008) were based on other books Neil Gaiman wrote as well.

Howard will release his Formula 1 racing movie, RUSH, on September 20th and he’s also producing a documentary called JAY-Z: MADE IN AMERICA about the famous rapper Jay-Z.
