Rebekah Herzberg here with an important announcement! I have been selected as an official judge in the Lagniappe Film and Music Festival for the horror division. I will be accepting 10 fresh and original horror films, nationally and internationally for the festival. Prizes for the winners to be announced. There will also be a high school division where the winners will receive a free scholarship as long as they keep their grades up! Send me your horror films! SUBMISSION GUIDELINES: ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR AMERICAN INDEPENDENT FEATURE AND SHORT FILM COMPETITION:
â€¢ Entries must have at least 51% U.S. funding.
â€¢ Running time for all Feature Films must be 41 minutes or more.
â€¢ Running time for all Short Films must be less than 41 minutes.
â€¢ Selected films must be made available .mov or .avi media files (preferred video format); HD-Cam; or Blu-ray.
â€¢ Films produced, financed or initiated by major motion picture studios are not eligible for the competition. However, any film conforming to the above guidelines and purchased by a studio after completion is eligible.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR INTERNATIONAL FEATURE COMPETITION AND INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM COMPETITION:
â€¢ Entries must have at least 51% funding from outside the U.S.
â€¢ International features and shorts are eligible for an Audience Award for Best International Feature or Best International Short.
â€¢ Film submissions in a foreign language must be subtitled in English.
â€¢ Selected films must be made available in; .mov or .avi media files (preferred video format); HD-Cam; or Blu-ray.
All movies submitted must not have played within a 90 miles radius of Beaumont, Texas 90 days prior and 90 days post festival. We believe this assures you the best audience turnout for your film.
â€¢ Films must be submitted for preview on DVD (Region 1 Standard). DVD submissions are preferred. Preview screeners will not be returned. * DO NOT AFFIX PAPER LABELS TO YOUR DVD SCREENER as they tend to come loose after multiple viewings and can damage the equipment.
â€¢ Entries MUST include a film synopsis and a complete cast/credits list. The synopsis should be a well-written, concise description of the basic plot and premise of your film. Maximum synopsis length is 150 words for features, 50 for shorts. â€¢ You are not required to submit film stills with this submission (this is only necessary after a film has been accepted). But if youâ€™d like to, please follow these specs and guidelines. â€¢HI-RES STILLS (300 DPI, AT LEAST 3â€ X 5â€) ARE REQUIRED UPON SUBMISSION AND CAN BE EMAILED TO firstname.lastname@example.org. Please use entry number generated by this form in the subject line.
â€¢ The synopsis and stills may be used in the program guide and will be available to distributors, members of the press, and filmmakers.
â€¢ If submitting more than one film, a separate completed entry form is required for each title.
