Houston – August 23, 2012 – SplatterFest Horror Film Festival and Convention is pleased to announce that Anthony Michael Hall (star of Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, The Dark Night, Weird Science, The Dead Zone) will appear at this yearâ€™s event and will have a dedicated autograph signing session, photo op, will hold a Q&A, as well as a special night of film screenings. Hall will also be honored as a recipient of the SplatterFest Lifetime Achievement Award.
VIP tickets to the festival, which give priority access and grant admission to all screenings, will be available soon online at http://splatterfest.com. The event will take place at the Alamo Drafthouse Mason Park in Houston October 2-6th, with Hall appearing one day only on October 6th.
Official schedule will be announced soon, but attendees should plan to arrive early as the signings and Q&A will take place during the day with screenings in the evening.
Registration for the short film competition is now open, and contestants can sign up online as well. Filmmakers will be given 54 hours to write, shoot and edit a horror short (see Official Rules for details). This yearâ€™s grand prize is a Canon t4i and will be awarded to the winner by Anthony Michael Hall.
This is SplatterFestâ€™s 3rd year, and previous guests have included Bruce Campbell and Michael Biehn, drawing attendees from all over the world, with a group of fans that traveled all the way from Moscow.
