Metal Review: Blood Mortized: Bestial (2011)

Blood Mortized: BestialFeaturing ex-members of Crypt of Kerberos, Amon Amarth, Malfeitor and Stigmata, Blood Mortized bring you death metal the way that it should be done. This Swedish death metal band has chosen to remain true to death metal origins instead of the constant struggle that newer bands are battling with in regards to the technicality of their sound.

Bestial is the band’s second release and is a 4-track EP following on from their warmly received self-titled debut album. The rawness of their sound is still there and the murkiness of the songs are still as prevalent as ever. With only four tracks, this is a small sampling of their sound, but it is a large enough sampling to know that this is a death metal band to be reckoned with. I am looking forward to a lot more from them in the coming years.

Of Dust and Doom is a haunting track that is still the standout of the album for me. It is evil and doomy. The vocals are gutteral echoes that fit the song’s feel so well. Check out Blood Mortized. You will not regret it.
